Xanthine/Hydroxypurine Content Fluorometric Assay Kit

Xanthine and hypoxanthine are widely present in animal and plant，serving as crucial intermediates in purine nucleotide metabolism. When xanthine oxidase (XOD) is deficient in the body，xanthine and hypoxanthine accumulate，leading to renal dysfunction. XOD catalyzes the oxidation of xanthine/hypoxanthine to produce uric acid and hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide reacts with a fluorescent probe to generate a strong fluorescent product. The fluorescence intensity at an excitation wavelength of 535 nm and an emission wavelength of 587 nm is proportional to the concentration of hydrogen peroxide. The content of xanthine/hypoxanthine can be calculated by measuring the generated hydrogen peroxide.
