TP4 (Nile tilapia piscidin) is a piscidin-like antimicrobial peptide with proven oral activity. This compound is effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains (MIC: 0.03-10 μg/mL) and exhibits hemolytic activity. TP4 also enhances immune response, improves antioxidant capacity, and improves gut health, helping to defend against bacterial infections. In addition, TP4 shows antitumor effects and can induce necrosis by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer cells.
