Acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACAD) is a type of important mitochondrial enzyme that plays a crucial initiating and rate-limiting role in the β-oxidation metabolic pathway of fatty acids. They are responsible for catalyzing the first oxidation reaction in the fatty acid catabolic process， initiating and catalyzing the breakdown of short-chain fatty acids， and are the primary step for organisms to obtain energy from fats. This kit can measure the total enzyme activity of short-chain， medium-chain and long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenases in the sample.
