RS17 is a synthetic antitumor peptide that specifically binds to CD47 molecules, blocking the interaction between CD47 and its ligand SIRPα on the surface of macrophages. The main mechanism of RS17 is to prevent CD47 from transmitting selective phagocytic signals to SIRPα by binding to CD47. In this way, macrophages do not mistake tumor cells for their own cells, but instead engulf them as foreign substances, thereby inhibiting tumor cell immune escape. RS17 can be used to study antitumor responses and immune escape mechanisms.
