ROS Reactive Oxygen Species Inhibitor/Scavenger

This product is non-sterile packaged and must be filtered through a needle filter before use， or added to the culture medium during preparation and then filtered. Cell handling should be performed carefully to minimize artificial damage to the cells. Centrifugal force should be kept as low as possible without losing cells， and cell resuspension should be gentle， avoiding repeated vigorous pipetting. Do not use a vortex mixer. Solarbio ROS inhibitors/scavengers adopt broad-spectrum ROS inhibitor N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) to inhibit and eliminate reactive oxygen species from various sources in cell samples. As an antioxidant，N-acetyl-L-cysteine can effectively remove hydrogen peroxide，hydroxyl radicals，hypochlorous acid and other types of reactive oxygen species in most cell samples. This is the most commonly used ROS inhibitor and scavenger，generally applied when the specific source of reactive oxygen species is not investigated. If inhibition of specific ROS production pathways such as mitochondria，NADPH oxidase，peroxisomes and cytochrome P-450 is required，products of other item numbers can be selected accordingly. This reagent is prepared with cell culture grade raw materials with purity over 99%. N-acetyl-L-cysteine requires reaction time before scavenging ROS，and shall be incubated prior to ROS stimulant treatment. Literatures indicate it can prevent cell apoptosis，while it induces apoptosis in smooth muscle cells. Application: Treat cells with the ROS inhibitor at a final dilution of 1:500，30 minutes before exposure to ROS stimulants or stressful conditions. Note: Effective concentrations vary greatly among cell models and shall be adjusted based on preliminary tests. The common working dilution ranges from 1:500 to 1:250，and 1:100 to 1:50 for partial cell types. Prepare 1:50 stock solution for convenient use by filtration either before or after mixing with fresh medium.
