QP5 is an amelogenin-derived peptide with the ability to bind to hydroxyapatite and demineralized enamel surfaces, temporarily stabilizing amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) and controlling the crystallization process of hydroxyapatite, thus promoting remineralization of carious lesions. In a rat caries model, QP5 has been shown to promote remineralization. QP5 can be used to study oral diseases such as dental caries.
