Product Description L-Threonine is an essential amino acid for humans， which cannot be synthesized by the body and must be obtained from food. L-Threonine is an important amino acid in the nervous system and also plays a key role in porphyrin and fat metabolism， helping to prevent fatty accumulation in the liver. L-Threonine lacks ultraviolet (UV) absorption groups and strong fluorescent properties， and thus cannot be directly determined by conventional detectors. This kit employs a pre-column derivatization method: under weakly alkaline conditions， OPA (o-phthalaldehyde) and 3-MPA (3-mercaptopropionic acid) specifically react with the amino group of L-Threonine to form fluorescent derivatives. Upon excitation with ultraviolet light， these derivatives emit fluorescence at a longer wavelength than the excitation light. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the L-Threonine concentration with a high response， making this method suitable for automated batch analysis by HPLC.
