Peptide P60 is a FOXP3 inhibitor. It enters cells, inhibits the nuclear translocation of FOXP3, and reduces its inhibitory effect on the transcription factors NF-κB and NFAT. Simultaneously, Peptide P60 inhibits the immunosuppressive activity of regulatory T cells (Tregs) from mice and humans and enhances the stimulation of effector T cells in vitro. This compound induces a lymphoproliferative autoimmune syndrome with pathological features similar to those of reported mottled mice lacking functional Foxp3. Peptide P60 also enhances the immunogenicity of cancer and viral vaccines.
