Pantinin-3, an antimicrobial peptide derived from the venom of the emperor scorpion (Pandinus imperator), exhibits significant antitumor activity. This peptide has shown selective toxicity against two types of cancer cells, breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) and prostate cancer cells (DU-145), and has induced apoptosis in them. Therefore, pantinin-3 has potential applications in cancer research.
