Pantinin-1, an antimicrobial peptide isolated from the venom of the scorpion Pandinus imperator, exhibits potent antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, but its antimicrobial effect against Gram-negative bacteria is weaker. Furthermore, Pantinin-1 shows almost no hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes and possesses anticancer properties, inducing apoptosis in tumor cells.
