The TMRE Mitochondrial Membrane Potential Assay Kit is a kit that detects changes in intracellular mitochondrial membrane potential using the fluorescent probe TMRE. This kit can be used to detect membrane potential in cellular mitochondria， tissue mitochondria， or purified mitochondria. ΔΨm， or mitochondrial membrane potential (Mitochondrial membrane potential)， is a crucial parameter reflecting mitochondrial function. Simultaneously， a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential is a key marker of early cell apoptosis. By detecting changes in mitochondrial membrane potential， the apoptotic status of cells can be determined. Similar to JC-1， TMRE is a widely used mitochondrial membrane potential probe. Under normal conditions， TMRE enters mitochondria in a voltage-dependent manner and emits bright orange-red fluorescence. When mitochondrial membrane potential decreases， TMRE is released from mitochondria， causing the orange-red fluorescence within mitochondria to weaken or disappear. Changes in mitochondrial membrane potential can be assessed by the intensity of TMRE fluorescence. This kit includes CCCP as a positive control for inducing mitochondrial membrane potential decline. For most cells， treatment with CCCP results in near-complete loss of mitochondrial membrane potential. The kit can process 100 samples in a 6-well plate format and 1000 samples in a 96-well plate format.
