[Leu144,Arg147]-PLP (139-151) is a variant peptide of myelin lipoprotein (PLP) in which tryptophan and histidine at positions 144 and 147 are replaced with leucine and arginine, respectively. This peptide also acts as a T-cell receptor (TCR) antagonist for the Th1 clone in encephalomyelitis and can block T-cell activation in vitro. Furthermore, [Leu144,Arg147]-PLP (139-151) also helps inhibit the progression of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
