Hydrostatin-TL1 (H-TL1) is a nine-amino acid peptide with TNF-α antagonistic activity. It can be extracted from the venom glands of the sea snake *Hydrophis cyanocinctus*. H-TL1 competitively inhibits the binding of TNF-α to TNFR1, thereby reducing TNF-α-induced cytotoxicity and inflammatory responses. Hydrostatin-TL1 can be used to study TNF-α-related inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
