Composition (g/L): Beef brain infusion powder 4. 0 Beef heart infusion powder 4. 0 Peptone 5. 0 Casein peptone 16. 0 Sodium chloride 5. 0 Glucose 2. 0 Disodium hydrogen phosphate 2. 5 Agar 13. 5 pH 7. 4±0. 2 at 25°C Instructions for Use Weigh 5. 2 g of the powder, heat and stir to dissolve in 93 ml of distilled water. Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 50-55°C, then add 7 ml of defibrinated sheep blood and 1 vial of HB8646a Helicobacter pylori supplement. Mix thoroughly, pour into sterile Petri dishes, and let solidify. Note: Helicobacter pylori additive contains 1 mg nalidixic acid, 0. 5 mg TMP, 0. 3 mg vancomycin, and 0. 2 mg amphotericin B.
