Glucose Uptake Fluorescence Detection Kit (2-NBDG)

Glucose metabolism converts ingested glucose into energy, serving as the primary energy source within living organisms. Research indicates that glucose metabolism is closely associated with various diseases, including tumors, diabetes, and obesity, making the detection of glucose uptake critically important. The 2-NBDG Glucose Uptake Assay Kit is a detection system that utilizes the fluorescent probe 2-NBDG to measure glucose uptake. 2-NBDG is a fluorescently labeled glucose analog that is transported into cells by glucose transporters (GLUT) in the same manner as glucose. Once into cells, 2-NBDG undergoes phosphorylation at the C-6 position to form 2-NBDG-6-phosphate, which is subsequently retained intracellularly. Compared to other glucose uptake detection reagents (such as 2-DG or FDG), 2-NBDG enables in situ detection at the single-cell level. This kit provides a sensitive, rapid, and non-radioactive method for detecting glucose uptake. It includes phloretin as a positive control, a GLUT1 inhibitor that significantly suppresses glucose uptake. For 96-well plates using 100 μL working solution per well, this kit yields at least 500 tests.
