FNIII14 originates from the 14th type III-like (FN-III) repeat sequence of the fibronectin (FN) molecule. It inhibits cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) adhesion, induces the transition of β1-integrin from an active to an inactive state, and blocks integrin-mediated signal transduction. FNIII14 possesses anti-fibrotic and anti-cancer properties and can be applied to research on metabolic diseases, organ fibrosis, and malignant tumors.
