This kit is designed for detecting the oxygen consumption rate (OCR) of cells. Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in cells consumes oxygen to generate ATP, providing energy for cell growth. Therefore, measuring OCR serves as a critical indicator for studying mitochondrial function. This kit provides a fluorescent probe sensitive to oxygen. In a sealed environment, as cells consume oxygen, the probe's fluorescence intensity increases proportionally to the oxygen depletion. By measuring this fluorescence change, the kit quantifies the cells' oxygen consumption rate.
