Endotoxin Inhibitor is a cyclic polypeptide with the sequence KTKCKFLKKC. It forms a stable high-affinity complex with lipid A，the toxic moiety of endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS)，with a binding constant Ka = 0.56 × 10? M?1. In vitro，it can neutralize the toxicity of LPS； in vivo，it is able to block LPS-induced cytokine release and lethal effects.
