DDDEEKC is a biomimetic peptide sequence capable of selectively adsorbing onto the enamel surface (mimicking the function of sialic acid, an acquired membrane protein in saliva), acting as a "targeting guide" in the enamel remineralization process. This compound can promote the regeneration of hydroxyapatite (HAP) and has the potential for in-situ remineralization repair research of enamel demineralization damage (such as dental caries).
