Anxiety peptide (ODN), which corresponds to diazepam binding inhibitor (DBI) (33-50), is produced by tryptic digestion of DBI. The octadecapeptide binds to the benzodiazepine receptor and appears to increase anxiety. De Mateos-Verchere et al. showed that ODN exerts potent anorexigenic effects in rodents.
