Applications :Plant cell division factors; Synthetic cytokinin; Plant tissue cell culture. 6-Benzylamino Purine (6-BAP) is a synthetic cytokinin that can be used in combination with plant auxins to enhance plant growth and development responses, promoting flowering or node budding, stimulating cell division to thicken fruit flesh, and reducing the incidence of flower or fruit drop. It extends the post-harvest survival period of green vegetables, promotes plant cell elongation and division, enhances the growth capacity of germinating seeds, strengthens plant immunity against external stresses such as drought, high salinity, and severe cold, and improves the plant's own ability to resist diseases. 6-BAP is commonly used as an important component in plant growth media (such as Murashige and Skoog, Gamborg's, and Chu's N6) to increase yield.
